Co-host of the Trivia and Music quiz section, John writes – “I am pleased to report that we had a blast on Friday evening. Hats off to Alisha and the Perron team and particularly technical sound support and great Karaoke by Stefan.”
Judging by the success of the evening we would like to consider making this a monthly event at the Perron, if they’ll have us. Without the Perron it doesn’t work.
The Perron really came up trumps with outstanding prizes.
And the Karaoke segment was brilliant, a stunning play list by Stefan, so much talent on stage, so much fun, so much laughter and so many unlikely moments.
And now for a couple of other comments and pics, gotta have pics !!!
Dennis, with the group of 4 from Langebaan wrote – “Thanks for the wonderful evening, with fun, laughter, good food and getting the old mind back in gear.”
A group from Philadelphia had a grand time and really got going in the Karaoke. Thank you to Simon and team.
Our Karaoke host Stefan rocked the boards with his choice of songs, and treated us to a few of his own lively songs.
And a very big thank you from all of us to all of you for making the evening memorable.
Trivia Peter got it going with some warm up questions (not scored) –
- In 2003, a boxer, after winning a world title, due to excitement he wet himself in the ring. At which world famous venue did this take place? / Olympia at the Cruft’s dog show

- True or False – Burger King introduced a new a “left-handed Whopper” in the US in 1998 designed for the 32 million left-handed Americans. The new burger had the same ingredients as the original but all the condiments were rotated 180 degrees? / False
- True or false – Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife / False
Then it was down to business
OK first the questions and answers and then the pics. The featured pic at the top of the page is of Team ‘Local is Lekker‘ from Philadelphia who really set the bar with their rendition of Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
MUSIC GURU QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
First, a short snatch of the music and then the questions –
The question for the first 5 tunes was “What is the country of origin of the tune”?
The question for the second batch of 5 was “Name the tune”.
Then it got hectic.
Stefan got the Karaoke going and the rest is imagery, enjoy – thanks to John for the pics. If anyone has any pics they would like to be added please send them off to me(Peter Hall), I’d be delighted to add them.
And a pic from Dave Burger, owner of Daisy Darling BnB – “Thanks Peter, John and Stefan for a fun evening”.
